The sedimentation basin is based in SULB in Hidd. The basin sorts out different byproducts using a mechanical fan , this along with the material that is being sorted creates continuous mechanical abrasion to the surface of the structure. The project consisted of preparing the concrete substrate of the sedimentation basin and design & applying an industrial coating that was anti abrasive and UV stable as the basin was exposed. The basin was constructed with a slope therefore different sections of basin were exposed to different degrees of abrasion, all of which needed to be taken into account when designing a system.
