The sewage treatment plant was located on the Hidd coastline. It was a sewage treatment plant processing over 150 000 cubic meters of sewage per day. The main holding tanks were located in the middle of the plant and were under constant dynamic loads , as the sewage was constantly filling and emptying from the tanks. This continuous movement resulted in cracks and leaks around the tanks both externally and in between tanks. Due to the nature of the liquid being stored in the tanks , classified as corrosive , a special waterproof injection system was used. The injection was done while the tanks were operational in order to avoid downtime.
